The Armenian government approved today an additional release of water from Lake Sevan for irrigation purposes. A 45-day set of measures designed to upgrade the Yerevan Thermal Power Plant (second unit) has kicked off, the Ministry of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources of Armenia reported today.The ministry said in a press release that the modernization of the TPP, aimed at increasing its efficiency and reliability, will be carried out by the US-based General Electric.
